Very interesting in regards what Android has become. Its open source, the trouble of handling it shifts now to the ODM manufacturer instead of like Windows which being propietary Microsoft was always in charge of the kernel. There's always a benefit and a cost involved. Being the benefit that an open source allows for more innovation perhaps. But more and more companies will have to tame the art of software development in bigger numbers.
And I also see from this interview that products are being developed in a different way and I think its the proper way. They have to be developed starting from the outside and finish with the inside. The final user is the boss. From this I suppose marketing departments are achieving a higher load of responsibility since they have to 'try' to find out what the end-user wants. Of course, at the end you have to find the sweet spot in which design and engineering meet and are in peace. Interesting!
