ASML Holds Out on 450 mm

Intel and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. have gone public with plans to build 450-mm fabs, and a number of equipment vendors are developing tools to support the next-generation wafer size. One high-profile holdout, however, has been Netherlands-based lithography leader ASML Holding.
