True, but Centerton, a dual core Atom, the first Atom part geared for servers, will be in the single digit range, albeit not with any significant SoC integration of server comms IP as far as anyone knows so far.

I welcome the business topic I am most passionate about being covered here! I think you capture it well. We are certinly not at the point where the ARM camp should be claiming success, and indeed, I don't think we are. Interest is categorically there. What really needs to happen is for end customers to test these ARM platforms and see meaningful benefit in terms of useful work/W/$ or whatever metric is important to them. That quantitative data will drive the program into the second act.

ARM's vision and role here is to add a lot more pieces of art to the exhibit. It will engage people again in attending. If this report is true, Centerton is really missing the integration boat the ARM server SoCs are riding.

The report says Centerton is: A processor capable of handling 8 lines PCI Express 2.0, but not directly managing the SATA, USB and Ethernet, requiring the integration of dedicated controllers connected via the PCIe lines.

Is this accurate?
